CLT or the departments formally known as Comparative
Literature and English and....
All courses are three credits, except CLT 597, 599, 690, and
699, which can be taken for variable credit. Core courses
(CLT 501, 510) may not be repeated. All other courses are
topic courses that may be repeated if the topic changes. No
more than a total of six credits of CLT 597, 599 or 699 may
be counted toward degree requirements.
CLT 500 History of Literary Theory: An introduction to
basic texts in literary criticism prior to 1900. Emphasis is
on
the West from the Greeks on, but where appropriate
non-Western traditions are introduced. 3 credits.
