There is a story of his titled "Hapworth 16, 1924" that was published in
the sixties, but is uncollected. It's a letter written by Seymour to his
parents from a summer camp. There were reports a couple of years ago
that some small press was going to reissue it (with JDS's cooperation),
but in the end Salinger didn't feel up to it, I guess.  Kinda like
"Mortality and Mercy in Vienna".

Quite agree with you on the merits of the non-catcher Salinger books -
Franny and Zooey is my personal fav of all his work.
