It seemed to me (and still seems) that your little pseudo-fait accompli
("everyone I've shown ..." etc) was designed to debunk all those thousands
(tens, hundreds of thousands?) of readers since *GR*'s publication (let
alone those on this list) who *haven't* read a reference to the Holocaust in
the opening section of the novel, is all. Sorry if that wasn't your
intention and you did in fact have a *very* peculiar sample group, but am
just trying to understand why you would be suddenly clamouring to rate it as
the 'greatest insight' or whatever into the novel that had ever been made.
