corporate involvement on both sides of WWII.  You don't have to dig 
at all to find this story in GR, it's right there on the page.  That 
(U.S. corporate involvement on both sides of WWII), among many other 
things, is what the novel is "about" -- IMHO -- plus how the same 
thing was happening in the Vietnam War at the time that Pynchon is 
writing the novel. Your mileage may vary of course.
