§ 175 was abolished in Germany in 1996 or 97, before there existed a "soft"
version of it that homosexuality among adults is allowed... 175 in its "old"
version that forbidded homosexuality in any shape was abolished in the early
seventies...now we've got no "specific" paragraph for gays/lesbians but the
"normal" paragraph that sex is allowed with people older than 16.
I think that the Dora gays "love" sadomasochism and oppression 'cause their
unconscious is obsessed by it... the so called "sado-anarchism" is an
ironical allusion to it. As Foucault said: you cannot leave power if you want
you are always "in" the power structure... so the "liberation" is another
kind of power... the unconscious is obsessed also by HISTORY (HE-STORY,
HYSTERY) so there is no way out... BTW, Foucault said in an interview two
years before his death (1982) that the only way out is a "fluid" power
structure, the exchange of roles; he recommended sado-masochism as an
arrangement of a fluid power structure, and he spoke about his experiences in
the hardcore gay scene in L. A. in the 70's. But this isn't an option for the
Dora gays I think... Pynchon sounds here very pessimistic if I remember right.
