The Malign Nanny scolded:
"You nattering twerp.  I pretend nothing.  This "pre-emptive note" does
nothing so much as reveal your defensiveness and intellectual cowardice.
Toward what is for you to resolve.  As for the rest--to criticize 
your censoriousness makes those who do so  themselves censorious?  I 
think not."

Think again. You make a great nanny, although a bit on the harsh side 
with your criticism, but I expect that's how you were brought up, 
after all, and I strive to practice simple Christian charity when I 
think of you.

How speaking up and facing your cutting words might "reveal ... 
cowardice" is fun to ponder however. For a moment or two, at least, 
until the lack of logic starts to leave that sticky feeling at the 
edge of reason.
