Wishy-washy

Even though I've got a host bit in the V read, I'm a little apprehensive
about it. I've read V plenty of times, and would rather go with something
else, but I didn't do the organizing, so whaddya gonna do?
I'm also not adverse to taking a little break before the next formal read.
I've got other authors than the Pynch I'd like to pursue, and I have a day
job, and hobbies to boot, and I am less inclined to get into a group
activity when... Well look, I almost never read the digests anymore. I am
just not interested in all the infighting. I am also a little unhappy with
the idea of members posting to the list under multiple names. That seems
like the sort of shady shit I would expect from... I don't know, I wouldn't
expect it of adults.
Whether we have a group read or not, regardless of the title, would it be
out of line for me to put forth a wee proposal?
Not to extract all the emotion from the list (that's pretty dull) but
howsa bout this: if you feel you need to take someone to task for something
they said here, and your reply is going to be pages and pages of invective,
can you do it off list? If it's about the book, great. If it's about the
history, or science, or of general intrest to Pynchon fans, bang on. If
it's a 10 page screed deconstructing your opponent's spelling mistakes, we
don't need to see it.

One vote for a short hiatus.
