The Herero conjunction of netherworld and moon as Holy
Center is parodied by the doctrines of other Rocket cultists
in the novel. 

In one of the novel's passages we discussed at length during
our GRGR, TRP presents 
what we recognize as still another "sick" parody of the
Herero's fertile Earth based religion in the mystical
nazi/cartel gnostic zero.  And guess who is at the center.
Well who sits at the center of Hell in Dante's Inferno? ?
Why it's Dis. Don't Dis us Terrance, your not gonna say that
Blicero is some sort of white devil are you? And Greta? Boy
I think that Black and White light in Conrad's HoD is all
over GR, what about it? Not yet. What TRP shows us is
literally a vacuous parody of Earth's vital core (remember
that glass sphere). TRP, in describing the tunnels of the
Mittelwerke, a place where the Rockets were assembled (what
of that fearful assembly Dave Monroe? just a pasta dish?).
The architecture we discussed a bit, and we noted that the
mathematical sign: the double integral was used to determine
the Rocket's Brennschluss point, and thus the point when,
well we did get the scientifics on this and we'll get more
on this before we start VV at which point aI promise to shut
up.  The sign is also revealed, through
 TRP's typical manic poetic license to be an anti-life icon
associated with "the ancient rune that stands for the yew
tree, or Death..." 

I noted during this discussion that this was a good example
of why looking for accuracy, as Weisenburger does in this
case, is the real reader trap. TRP mixes them up, history,
myth, symbols inverted sometimes as parody etceteras
etceteras...Weisenburger notes more of these than he misses,
hey, it's a rough book that's why they sell a Companion. So
if you glance over to page 158 of that very useful Companion
you will see that Weisenburger says, "Once more, though
Pynchon has stretched the historical facts to suit his
sigmoid fraud." He's good, real good that Weisenburger, and
his book is indispensable.

Weisenburger doesn't gloss here, but that Tim Ware gives us
a bit. Note that these guys, check out the sexual death
desires in the rocket limericks, tricks, exploding cigars
and all, worship death too.

So these nazi, yes they are nazi architects, have this
method 

of finding hidden centers, inertias unknown," WOW! AND 

as if monoliths had been left for him in the twilight, left
behind by some corrupted idea of "Civilization," in which
eagles cast in concrete stand ten meters high at the corners
of the stadiums where the people, a corrupted idea of "the
People" are gathering, in which birds do not fly, in which
imaginary centers far down inside the solid fatality of
stone are thought of not as "heart," "plexus,"
"consciousness," 

NOT ALL THEATRE cry it's OK

Sanctuary," "dream of motion," "cyst of the eternal
present," or "Gravity's gray eminence among the councils of
the living stone." No, as none of these, but instead a point
in space, a point hung precise as the point where burning
must end, never launched, never to fall. And what is the
specific shape whose center of gravity is the
Brennschluss Point? [GR.302]

There is ONLY one. Why it's the parabola of course, that
ominous curve described
by the Rocket's dialectic ( a nast word in GR) with gravity.
To locate this image of death,  death's shape,
with its critical death point, where, by the way, Orphism
would locate the "heart" of the living stone is to engage in
a gnostic pornography, a  usurpation, a "mythic surrogating
that is also a blasphemy. This Zero-Ground Zero, this Unholy
Center, defined here as not-plexus, not-consciousness,
not-eternal present are not simply negations, not mere
denials of spiritual medium, not simply a return to some
existential neutrality but rather the pornographic and 
plastic codex of the malignant (good term for describing
Blicero too, see GR.666)  inspiriting that "grows towards
winter from the process of extinction beyond the Zero. This
a theology and religious culture here. So in this we can see
that the connection, the  concrete eagles that emblematize
the Reich come also to represent a stone "fatality" that is
not only motionless but inimical to motion, just as the
corrupted "Civilization" goes beyond mindless barbarism in
systematically subverting
the human communion. Sounds like a place Blicero longs for,
doesn't it? The Nazi ideology of the Zero finds its avatar
in Blicero.
