I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, or anywhere near 
wrong, but I believe I heard sometime in the last couple of years 
that GR has sold about 2 million copies since publication. It's what 
they call in the book trade a "perennial backlist bestseller" -- 
always in print, assigned for school reading, steady sales, word of 
mouth, copies purchased as gifts as Mark Wright AIA suggests, etc. 
Anybody have better numbers or sources for this?
