Seems to me, Mr Pynchon denied he wrote'em and that should be end of story,
even though alot of Mr. Foster's investigation in his book on the
controversy is not very good. Comparing a Pynchon letter as Malign sorta
noted w/ Papa, with a letter supposedly written under an assumed name is not
very illuminating. did foster expect Pynchon to write like Pynchon, exactly,
and on the basis of seeing one or two true Pynchon letters. It goes against
Foster's accusation/surprise that the defense expert in the Unabomber case
hadn't read more than one or two pieces written by Kacsinsky and made a
judgement based on that. Foster, IMHO, makes a better case of the Unabomber
than Wanda, though his conclusion is right on both counts. His tracking of
how TK picked his victims reminded me eerily of that cult in DeLillo's The
Names.

In summary, Pynchon says it ain't him, babe. let's let it rest.

Rich
