I think the "popularity" of Goldhagen during his visit in Germany 1996, 
shortly after the "Willing executioners" were published in German ("Hitlers 
willige Vollstrecker"), is caused by the fact that Goldhagen in his 
statements said to the German public: The willing executioners - that were 
your forefathers. After the war, the Germans changed in a mysterious way all 
to democrats. How this could take place, he didn't say. "The continuity of 
German history" was suddenly interrupted after 45.

Finkelstein you must see in the context of the endless "running gag" 
reparations for the forced workers - the German industry says: as long we 
have no "juridical safety" we don't pay. And look, how the Jewish 
Organizations are wasting our money (Finkelstein is a witness for that). The 
money we'll give (10 Billion Deutschmarks) is not reaching the "real 
victims". BTW, half of the money - 5 Billion - is from the German state, and 
the money for the forced workes can be used for  reducing the tax...
