B/W being an "avatar" of Nazi ideology  is not contingent
upon his being an officer of any rank or having a genuine
interest  in his actual job(s). 



You have suggested that B/W's slide was owed to his open
homosexuality, but again, as with your argument about the
175's placing B/W  at the top of their phantom hierarchy,
the text does not support your argument.
