In his recent book, Spirit Matters, Michael Learner (he's editor-in-chief of
Tikkun magazine; http://www.tikkun.org/) proposes a Social Responsibility
Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would provide direct citizen
oversight for corporations -- an audacious, ambitious proposal that,
unfortunately, may be too quickly dismissed as utopian.  His book is worth
reading; what he has to say about globalization of capital and what he
proposes in the way of "globalization of the Spirit" deserves a wide
audience.  I've also just picked up a '95 book called When Corporations Rule
the World by David C. Kortena that looks and sounds interesting, too.
