If you've spent much time in LA, it's easy to understand why residents there
admire SF, and why SF residents so often feel differently about LA. Of
course, once you get outside SF and certain parts of the East Bay hills
(including Berkeley), you might as well be in LA or Oklahoma City or
wherever.  LA remains a great place to make money, of course, with an
economy many times larger than that of the SF Bay Area, and all the
Disneyland and aerospace industry a person can stand, or not, cf. COL49...
