This is correct. Jünger was not directly involved in the assassination of
Rathenau. But he knew the killers (freicorps members), he knew their plans,
they were his friends or "ideological neighbours" of the "conservative
revolution". Later, in 1944, he knew the people who wanted to kill Hitler, he
knew the members of the conspiracy, sympathized with them (his function in
Paris was controlling and censoring the mail), but was not directly involved
in it. After his active role in the 1st world war he became a pure
"observer". This was his new lifestyle and ideology, a kind of "contemplative
observation". "spiritual aristocracy".
