Am I the only one who didn't know that Lamont Cranston was
The Shadow?  The last time Oedipa heard Pierce's voice, he
was mimicking Lamont Cranston.  Pynchon doesn't say, but
Pierce's last words to Oedipa were probably, "Who know what
evil lurks in the hearts of men?"

And then he had a codicil added to his will naming Oedipa as
executrix.
