If you are still skeptical of the Troades/CT connection:
Messenger (I kid you not):
......The wall is gone, but the tower remains, a stronghold
in some dreamscape with unruly throngs around it,
cheerful as at a fair. They stream from the ships
and mill about on the nearby hillside to see,
from the peak, between the laurel tree and the BEECH,
that battlement........
Troades
Now the Italian word for beech is FAGGIO.
The tree is associated with the Piedmont/Lombardy (lakes)
region - northern Italy.
this is where the action of CT occurs
Bergamo - the original home of the Tasso family is a part of the
above.......
Dante scholars on the list should have something for us on
this.......
love,
cfa
