paranoia: 12 kinds in P's fiction

Ie, I think that the kinds of things Jim W. is looking
at re: paranoia are more applicable to GR, whereas
COL49 seems to use paranoia as a way of thinking of
the very process of reading, textual analysis etc. 


I agree 100%! 

I probably should not have even brought GR into it,
but 
my point will be, to be fair to Hollander's essay,
that
Paranoia is not Pynchon's fear of writing about a
particular subject or certain people or driven by
anythying so personal as P's biography/disinheritance
or fear of retribution or need for apocalypse or
Revenge, but is rather more complicated and even as
early as CL49, religious/metaphysical.
