My inability to accurately convey "meaning" led many of my college profs to recommend a curriculum focusing on vocational skills. Apparently I still tote that albatross......
I recommended, enthusiastically, the Hollander article in the context of the concept of "desenheredado"...with all due respect to Mr. Jim and MalignD I continue to do so.
paranoia, in my view, gets far too much play from "critics".I wonder if ultimately, it need assume any greater role in the works than other belief "structures", like causality, or synchronicity. As you may have noticed, I don't think I even used the term once, while slaying herds of bandwidth this week. But I digress....
I continue to recommend the article as a source for biographical "context" rather than the minutia many here make an effort to eschew as a matter of reverence. Though my grasp of the available "critical" material is not exhaustive - I have yet to come across the details, even in hints, from other sources.......FOr those, like myself, who lack either the industry or skill to read de Nerval's poem, the Hollander article puts that concept in a
fascinating and useful perspective, and I urge others to at least take a look.
love,
cfa
