   "hyper-graphicity"? well, probably not. last year i wrote here one or two 
   mails about "graphicity in pynchon's prose" (since i do not have them 
   anymore, the only way to get it, i'm afraid, is to check the archives). 
   back then i also noted the fact that pynchon does not use images or drawings 
   in his later books. the old spelling in mason & dixon might be perceived as 
   another form of "hyper-graphicity", though.
