Beatles in Pynchon; Pynchon in Beatles

Remember how everyone wondered why the Beatles spoke
with those rich and lilting Liverpudlian accents, but sang
with no accent (meaning an American accent, I guess)?
Check out page 27, after Miles sings:

     "It's lovely," said Oedipa, "but why do you sing with an
English accent when you don't talk that way?"
     "It's this group I'm in," Miles explained, "the Paranoids.
We're new yet.  Our manager says we should sing like that."

On the Beatles' ABBEY ROAD, the original title of "Sun King"
was "Los Paranoias."  That's the one with Spanish/Italian/
Portuguese gibberish in it.

This isn't Beatle-y, but on p35 is a line that would be used
in the opening to the cult TV show, "The Prisoner," heavily
based on paranoia:  "That would be telling."

On page 30, there's a midget submarine in the move Metzger
starred in as Baby Igor (what a name!).  "We all live in a
midget submarine...."

On page 32, there's mention of a female sheepdog in the
movie.  Paul McCartney had an English sheepdog named
Martha, and then there was Martha's puppy, Daisy.  (Okay,
that's really pushing it!  Weird coincidence, though, I think.)
