I too, am a big Tom Waits fan, but
would just like to point out wherever
you got your lyrics from must obviously
refer to Hackensack, NJ (practically a
homonym, no?). The town is due west and
slightly north of the Meadowlands, Jimmy
Hoffa's reputed resting place. Waits also
penned (and eventually married) a Jersey Girl.
Incredible talent. Almost equivalent to
Capt Beefheart (Don Van Vliet). Lucky I got
to see them both in person before my self
imposed exile to the desert.
>If i Had my way
>i Would move to heart attack and vine
>I'd quit my job
>drive my car out to hack and sack
>i could get me some love in a paper sack
>If you Would Only give me weed whites and wine
>but moma don't live in new york city no more
I like this list, find it entertaining and erudite,
but I agree, the flame wars are sophomoric and tiresome.
