Okay, I've screwed up my display here trying to
discern the squares I'm pretty sure SHOULD be there,
but ... but for those watching at home, if this is
true to form here (Ad Reinhart, Abstract Painting),
there SHOULD be nine separate squares of barely
discernable shades of black and blue-black. And cf.,
e.g., Robert Ryman ...

Anyway, you should have seen the panic that erupted
after when a leaky ceiling spattered a few slivers of
water on the Reinhart AP at the local art museum, esp.
as it was fresh from having a few fingerprints
removed. You can really notice that kind of stuff on
something that minimally, er, self-differentiated
otherwise ...
