We've got a fairly interesting example of this in Germany. Horst Mahler, a
lawyer, used to be close to the first generation of the Rote Armee Fraktion, a
radical left-wing terrorist outfit. Meanwhile he has become a spokesman for the
NPD, a right wing party which hailed the September 11 mass murder as an
anti-imperialist attack and perhaps will be banned in the near future anyway. On
his web site Mahler lays out  various madcap anti-US and anti-semitic conspiracy
theories (if it is still online, that is).
