Oh no! It has begun.....
The Unholy One writes,
>Given Pynchon's remarks in the Playboy Japan interview -- plus what he's
>written in Vineland and elsewhere -- I'd say this is on-topic, too.
The Unholy One's Unholy Cheerleader writes,
>No wonder Pynchon's
>talking about Propaganda in Playboy Japan. The US Gov't are the creepiest
>mother-fuckers alive! They're Brock Vond with a pistol to your head, on
>your knees, instructing you in the art of submission. It's enough to make me
>retch.
Look, if that translation of a translation of a phone call *was*
Pynchon, it's not like he said anything most of us around here
wouldn't agree with. CNN is a lot of propaganda? Hey, there's a
surprise! I admit he was a bit hard on the NYT, but his comments are
hardly validation for Z-Net, Eat the State, Counterpunch, and so on;
and even less so, are they validation for Doug and Barbara's
hysterical and unbalanced views.....

PS: Barbara, in light of your last comment, I would really like to
invite you of a tour of numerous other countries and governments. May
I suggest we start in North Korea, spend some time in China and
occupied Tibet, cut down to Iran and Iraq, swing through the Isreali
occupied territories of Palestine, loop around the Balkan Funworld
for a bit, spend a long vacation across various places in Africa,
holiday in France, attend a few literary salons in Cuba, and end your
tour hobnobbing with the powerful in a few choice Latin American
countries? Not that the US Men in Black can't be creepy, Draconian,
or even brutal; but, well, *really.*
PPS: I am just kidding about France. Sort of. Well, at least some of
the cheeses they eat are creepy.
