Doug,
>I'm assuming you weren't in China to see the anti-Falun Gong propaganda
>blitz in August of 1999 and to judge its impact on people,
Yes, that is a correct assumption.
>as I was able to
>do (and, you know, it's not too late for you to learn Chinese, if that's
>an issue for you
No, what was an issue to me is your constant, pedantic, self-serving
reminders of such things.
>So, you're hardly equipped to evaluate the comparison I have
>made
Ah, I see. So you have to be somewhere to be able to use reason to
evaluate a situation. I suppose then that I may safely discount all
your own opinions about the Holocaust, WWII, colonialism, and so on?
But more to the point, you miserable, flatulent ass, if you read my
post, you will see that all I said was that I feel that the Gulf War
propaganda was more serious than the current war's propaganda. But
yet again, why bother to respond to anything I say, when you can
invent stuff of your own? Unless you are suggesting that I wasn't
around for the Gulf War, either?
>other than to offer more of your signature hot hair and jaw-flapping,
>more of your predictable denial and persiflage when Barbara or I dare to
>criticize the mighty U.S. of A.
Uh, Scoop -- I was joining *in* on your criticism of the US media and
propaganda.
>Actually, the US government has shown a remarkable level of control (it's
>been widely noted in serious publications in Europe and elsewhere since
>September 11) over the news and over the reporting of news during this war
>, and this control does, in fact, rise to a level that warrants comparison
>with what the Chinese government has managed these past 2 years with regard
>to the Falun Gong and whipping up anti-Falun Gong sentiment among the
>Chinese people -- I can detail it for you, if you wish
No, I don't care, Doug. After the totally off-base insults you dole
out in this letter, I could not care less what you think about the
Falun Gong, China, or the US government. I only wish you had stayed
the hell in China and pestered the Ha Jin List!
>You're probably too young to have a
>really clear picture of what that scene was like during the Gulf War -- you
>were still in the video game phase then, I expect.
Yes, as a professional chemistry teacher in my mid-twenties, pursuing
advanced credits in nuclear chemistry, I was spending most of my time
playing Atari than forming an informed opinion about the Gulf War.
How right you are!
>Maybe your Dad can
>explain it to you.
I only leave this quote in to show what a jerk you are.
>P.S. For a guy who reminds people as often as you do that you had
>something to do with a Pynchon web site, and wrote this and that and this
>other thing, and who has crowed and preened about your part in the Pynchon
>documentary,
Uh.... Huh?????? Please provide examples, Scoop. I barely mention
Spermatikos Logos. I believe that maybe *once* I have directed you to
to something I wrote about GR. And in fact, I was totally, 100% QUIET
about my interview when the movie recently came up on the List. I
only mentioned it after Otto brought it up, and that was only to
remark that the gentlemen who interviewed me were rather nice, and we
had a few drinks. "Crowing and preening?" Other than my fondness for
birds, I really don't see where this exists save your weird,
delusional brain. God, you are SUCH a wanker! I call you a bald-faced
liar, and I DARE you to pull up any examples of such behavior on my
part! I double-dog dare you!!!
>you might want to consider attacking others who may point
>occasionally to their own accomplishments. Just a suggestion. Feel free to
>be the hypocritical jerk you want to be.
Ugh! Why doesn't your head just explode! I just can't belive that
your head hasn't exploded yet.
