Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. Maybe he knew of it,
maybe he didn't. But, again, agree with him or not, he
does do his legwork, and often in basements, along
backstretts, and up and down dark alleys few else
bother, or even think, to tread. This, I think, is a
particularly egregious oversight on Grant's part,
whether intentionally or no. Anyway ...

Davis/Juliette Greco overtone as well, esp. as Paola
not only shares the chanteuse's knowledge of Boris
Vian protest songs, but, as I recall, might even bear
some resemblance to her (think stereotypical New York
avant-garde beatnik chick) ...
