Although Gravity's Rainbow doesn't directly deal with the holocaust, one
of its major motifs is Hansel & Gretel's oven . . .
Seems Pynchon is letting the reader decide whether to look at the
particulars, the special horrors of this one little war, or to just keep
to the general symbol of all modern wars as capitalist-cabal-driven holocausts.
