It's hard to tell whether you've got your tongue planted in your cheek or you're REALLY accusing me of being Hollander.  I happened to have the article on my desk when Otto asked for a citation, so I was happy to oblige.  I'd also written a message where I criticize the Varo/Varro leap (and cited another article which I feel does Varo much more justice), but it never seemed to have made it to the list (Lycos informs users on their login page that there's some delay in sending/receiving due to technical difficulties, so that post might yet show up much later when everyone else has moved on to other considerations!)
