In part, a good example of how P, like Wagner, mixes it all
up into his own art,  Yoyodyne would also be Grumman. Leroy
Randle Grumman's Grumman Aerospace Corp. Until recently it
was the largest employer, the most important company on Long
Island. Leroy, like TRP went to Cornell and then into the
U.S. Navy and served as a flight instructor and  later as a
test pilot. After the Great War he founded the Grumman
Aircraft Engineering Corporation on Long Island, N.Y. I'm
sure you know the rest so....

Also, some of the amusement park type scenes seem to be
influenced by Rilke as well.
