Jody, everybody, sorry if I misinterpreted, but things are often so
ambiguous, so downright cryptic here (those Pynchonian texts aside), and
when you're generally under fire as it is, well ... anyway, all I was
getting at was, if there was some sort of objection, well, I addressed
what I thought they might be, is all ...

And, again, to the extent I've perpetuated hostilities here, I apologize
as well.  But do note that, while it is indeed correct that Doug and I
are in seeming diametric opposition in matters of "authorship,"
"authority," what have you--indeed, my first real scuffle here was with
Doug over those very appeals to "genius," "vision," and so forth--and
while we continue to disagree over fine points of, say, the Holocaust in
GR or those curve in "IIOKTBAL?," we get on just fine nonetheless.  If
any of you think you disagree with me here, imagine what it's like for
me in everyday life.  But my staunchest opponents are also often my
closest friends, so ...

And sorry to have bored you, Terrance, but ...

And thanks, Michael, broke down and ordered the V. and M&D books from
B7N as well.  Would have preferred to get 'em from my friendly
neighborhood indie bookseller, but, having only been able to GET to a,
offscreen bookstore for the first time since Thnaksgiving yesterday,
they weren't in, and I got antsy, so ...
