I've just finished Norman Finkelstein's The Holocaust Industry--one of his 
odd claims is that because those organizations seeking monetary retribution 
from swiss banks, german companies, and the like inflate the number of camp 
survivors, it must mean that the camps were not as deadly as they were, that 
such inflation equates with holocaust denial.

As I've told some offlist, though, Finkelstein's points about the 
exploitation of jewish suffering cannot all be dismissed out of hand despite 
somewhat strange claim as above.

Some would include:  the knee-jerk support by American jews and supporters 
of an increasingly right-wing Israeli gov't and/or policy.

Or the claim that the monetary awards mostly going to the organizations and 
lawyers and not to survivors.
