... might that have been Jennifer Toth, The Mole People: Life in the
Tunnels Beneath New York City (Chicago: Chicago Review Press, 1995)?
Came up when I was hunting for a more recent documentary film on, I
believe, precisely the same subject.  I SAW the damn thing, just can't
recall the title, but I know it's come up here.  And I don't have the
time left, but that question about Jung is a good one.  A quick answer,
my quick answer, at any rate, might be, Jung is indeed germane to
reading Pynchon, question is, how?  And might Pynchon's possible use of
Jung be questioned as well?  Or is Pynchon himself questioning Jung?
But on that all-volunteer ALLIGATOR PATROL, keep in mind, the
involuntary, lottery draft, at least, for Vietnam was not begun until
1969 ...
