Interpreting the past

One hears nothing these days about the Weather Underground.  I did see an old 
copy of the Prairie Fire Statement, an analysis of the US capitalist 
establishment in a used bookstore, priced $20.00.  It has a cover price of 
$2.00.  The big bete noire of the right currently seems to be the Symbionese 
Liberation Army (SLA), with one of the surviving former members being 
prosecuted for attempted murder for planting bombs under police cars (none of 
which actually exploded).  She was living in a new identity for many years, 
was a model citizen until she was exposed & now faces what could amount to a 
life sentence in what is now the worst prison system in the First World.
