vv (8): dancing on socks

 concentrated on dancing on his socks." (136)


   like travolta in pulp fiction. dancing with naked feet is a natural thing to 
   do, and dancing in shoes could be called cultivated. but dancing on socks is 
   definetely --- schlemielesque. and so the next sentence does not really come 
   as a surprise:


 "after awhile dolores was there again and five seconds later a spike heel came 
 down square in the middle of his foot."
