Clearly the theme is pervasive in GR. Consider: rocket limericks (in which various techniques for having sex with the A4 are described); rocket worship;
imipolex G; the deathcamps (where what was once living is reduced to a residue of lifeless product: gold fillings, soap, lampshades); Pavlovian mechanics;
Tchitcherine (a surgical reconstruction, "more metal than anything else"); and so on. The persistence of the theme in M&D (cf. various golems, Vaucanson's
duck, etc.) has been discussed extensively here.
