Paul, this list manages to devote no small amount of time and space to the 
possible politics of both Pynchon and his texts.  It seems the single 
greatest topic of, if not necessarily discussion, then, certainly, 
contention here.  Why?  Because there's nigh unto nothing all too obvious 
about those Pynchonian politics, because there is nigh unto infinite room 
for speculation, interpretation, and, consequently, dispute (note that even 
the relatively few things I've read on the subject do not necessarily agree 
on, well, anything), and, ultimately, because it's there.  No offense taken, 
Paul, I have my disinterests, you have yours, neither of us can expect each 
and everyone to share them.  But the issue was here well bfore I arrived, 
and will no doubt remain long after I'm gone.  So ...
