on the hierachy of prisoners see also eugen kogon's buchenwald-report
(it's also, imo, still one of the most profound studies on the concentration
camp system): "der ss-staat. das system der deutschen konzentrationslager"
(22. edition, münchen 1989: heyne), where kogon reports that the queer
prisoners, wearing the pink triangle, were always at the hierachy's low
end. there's an impressive theatre play on queer concentration camp
prisoners i've seen once in the 80s. unfortunately i forgot the author's
name, but i still remember the title: "rosa winkel". anyone?
