writer gets a couple of details wrong, repeats the "almost nothing is 
known about his life" myth, gives P a smarmy gloss as he gets in a 
few jabs, tries hard to make Pynchon sound hip, reprints the 1953 
photo, brings P to the attention of millions, but what a slow 
download this evening...
