 the decisive contemporary german staging was, in the late 1980s, done by peter 
 zadek here in hamburg at the "deutsches schauspielhaus". zadek was the first to 
 work with the original text-version which had been re-contructed just before. a 
 truly great production! dr. schön was played by the unforgotten ulrich  
 wildgruber (r.i.p.), & lulu got impersonated by sweet susanne lothar, an 
 actress who could do leni pökler in the hollywood version of gr ...
