the transparency of Pynchon's prose WAS RE: Pynchon & rap

I wonder, is there really nothing in Pynchon's work that is obvious,
straightforward, clear, easy to grasp(just to throw a few more adjectives
into the mix)? Terrance has often argued that in many ways P is a rather
traditional novelist -- if I've correctly understood T's point, and I'm sure
he'll correct me if I haven't.   ;-)

"Scott Badger" 
"Obvious", though, is not an adjective that I
would ever use with anything Pynchon.
