("William Gass ...")?  Huh?  Huh?  Hm ... guess I'm
just too damn easily impressed, is all ... but that
Burton book, yet another mosntrosity (in the best
possible sense) that I'll probably never finish, but
I'm damn glad to have a shot at.  And then there's
that Anthony Powell dodecology (dodecalogue?) ...
