Someone jumped on an idea i was preparing ( i think Justin?). Whenever 
oedipa is thinking about Pierce the number 2 shows up (200 million dollars 
in his spare time, 200 birds in the lobby, etc.) But when Oedipa is with 
Mucho, and a third party comes in the picture we get the number 3 (i.e. the 
calls in three in the morning from Hilarius, Pierce) . When she is alone 
with Mucho talking about the DJ thing, Top 200. Rene Girard would be all 
over this. its when there is a third person, they are almost like a love 
triangle, and it seems fairly clear that all these men are sexually 
interested in Oedipa.

Guys my sincere apologies for being so late, but I have something real juicy 
coming up which you guys will tear apart. This is the most hectic couple of 
days I've had all summer; I am starting a class, buying a car, killing a 
wasps nest by my window, falling in love, trying to maintain my sanity. This 
would make a great short story, ahh, damn literary aspirations, someone just 
shoot me and get this over with, the wasps are staring at me with their 
beedy little eyes...
