Is it true that an intellectual is now defined as someone who can hear the names
Roger and Jessica and think of Pynchon rather than Disney?

(Way back in the days before Christ left Chicago, an intellectual was usually
defined as someone who could hear the _Guillaume Tell_ overture and not think of
the Lone Ranger...)
