An Australian protester who pushed a cream pie into the face of Victoria
State Premier Steve Bracks is appealing his jail sentence.
Marcus Brumer pleaded guilty to unlawful assault at Melbourne Museum last
year.
Brumer, from Upwey, was sentenced to one month in prison.
Magistrate Noel Purcell said his actions were "disgraceful and disgusting".
Brumer has appealed against the jail sentence and was granted bail pending a
County Court appeal on August 1.
He was also fined $750 (around £286) after he was found guilty of another
charge of offensive behaviour.
Mr Purcell said: "I don't think anyone in Victoria thinks that what you did
was appropriate.
"You upset a particularly important occasion and created a melee and
something of a debacle."
Brumer said he "pied" Mr Bracks to draw attention to alleged acts of police
violence outside the World Economic Forum in September last year.
