And thanks for all the links, although I'm afarid to
risk opening 'em @ the public library here.  Don't
need a lifetime ban just yet ... but will follow up,
obviously a subject of some interest to me.  Again,
i'd particularly recommend Felcia Miller Frank's The
Mechanical Song here, albeit not necessarily for
immediately obvious reasons.  But i have posted from
it at length here ...
