Anti-terrorism experts have developed a 'dog of war', equipped with an
infra-red camera on its head and a bullet-proof vest.

Quinn, a Malinois police dog, will be used to stop attacks on sensitive
government sites.

The Ministry of Defence plans to train 30 dogs who'll get inside buildings
humans find hard to penetrate.

Quinn is small and agile enough to get into buildings through windows or
ventilation shafts. He can also be carried in a harness up to windows.
Officials say he could help out in siege situations.

He is also trained to hide when he sees a gun pointed at him. If faced with
a knife he will attack the terrorist's arm.

A MoD Police spokesman said: "Quinn and the others have proved in tests that
they are prepared to risk their lives for humans. Their help means we can
concentrate our firepower in the right place quickly. They dramatically
improve our capability for imprecise building searches."

All 30 dogs should be trained by the end of the year, The Mirror reports.
