who's Christian?

Maybe a bit late to jump on this train, but some things are still pretty unclear to me.

Religion is a human system, created to overcome chaos, based on concepts unproven, used to make
man's world meaningful.  It can be exercised individually or organised. (this is more or less the
definition that came up when I asked around these days)

So speaking, it seems to me that the behaviour of many characters in mr. Pynchon's novels is
religious. At random from GR, Part 1: Is sex Jessica Swanlake's religion in order to cope with the
War?  Do the Poisson equations make it easier for Roger Mexico to find a world more meaningful? What
about Kevin Spectro: doesn't he consider his Book as an ultimate truth?

To which I have, as usual, no answer.
