NP On the Road

I hated the Batman movies myself, all of 'em, except
the 60s one (actually saw a screening of that with
Adam West in attendance--he danced the Batusi on
request). But am happy to report that the next one
will be directed by Darren Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for
a Dream), and written by Frank Miller (The Dark
Knight, er, Robocop 2 ...), adapting his Batman: Year
One. Might not be Aronofsky's NEXT film, but, in the
meantime, we should be getting Sam Raimi's Spider-Man
and Ang Lee's The Incredible Hulk. And do see ...

Brooker, Will. Batman Unmasked: Analyzing
a Cultural Icon. New York: Continuum, 2000.

Daniels, Les. Batman: The Complete History.
   San Francisco: Chronicle, 1999.

Pearson, Roberta E. and William Uricchio, eds.
The Many Lives of the Batman: Critical
Approaches to a Superhero and His Media.
   New York: Routledge, 1990.

Sorry, couldn't resist ...
