Ellroy &Pynchon WAS RE: The movies

I didn't find the dialogue a stumbling block at all, but I can see how
somebody might find it a bit hokey.
The comparison to Cheney I'd rate a low blow; Ellroy is miles above your
typical commercial thriller writer, for my money.

His dialogue is utterly awful, it is what Lynne Cheney might come up 
with.....bad enough to keep me from reading any more, in spite of 
his inventive plots......
